Kitchen countertops, planned around how you use your kitchen

New countertops change the look of a kitchen quickly, but only if the cabinets, sink, backsplash and edges are planned together. We handle the whole picture.

Countertops take more abuse than almost any surface in your home: hot pans, spills, knives, kids doing homework. Picking the right surface is part of it. Getting the details right (seams, overhangs, sink cutouts, how the backsplash meets the counter) is what makes it look finished.

We install countertops as part of a kitchen remodel or as a stand-alone upgrade when your cabinets are in good shape. Either way, you'll get a clear estimate before anything is ordered.

What countertop work can include

Removal of old countertops
Tear-out of laminate, tile or stone tops with care for the cabinets underneath.
Cabinet prep
Checking that cabinets are level and solid enough to support the new surface.
Sink and cooktop coordination
Undermount or drop-in sinks, faucet holes and cooktop cutouts planned before fabrication.
Installation
Countertops set, seams placed thoughtfully and edges finished cleanly.
Backsplash
Tile backsplash installed after the countertops so the joint between them is tight.
Island and peninsula tops
Overhangs for seating sized for real use, with proper support.

Choosing countertops: what to think about

  • How you cook

Some surfaces handle heat and scratches better; others need more care. Tell us how your kitchen gets used and we'll talk through the options.

  • Keeping or replacing cabinets

If cabinets are dated or damaged, replace them first. New tops on failing cabinets is money you'll spend twice.

  • Sink choice

Undermount sinks look clean and are easier to wipe into, but need a solid-surface countertop. Decide on the sink before the countertop is measured.

  • Backsplash at the same time

Removing old countertops often damages the existing backsplash. Planning a new one together avoids patchwork.

Kitchen Countertops questions

Something else on your mind? Call (206) 960-3383.
  • Can I replace just the countertops?

Yes, if your cabinets are solid and level. During your free estimate we'll check the cabinets and tell you honestly whether they're a good base for new countertops.

  • Will you replace my backsplash too?

We can. Backsplash tile is part of our kitchen work, and it usually makes sense to do it at the same time as countertops.

  • Do you help with the sink and faucet?

Yes. Sinks and faucets are coordinated with the countertop so cutouts, faucet holes and plumbing connections line up.
