In a bathroom, tile is only as good as what's under it. Walls that aren't flat show in every grout line. Floors that flex crack tiles. Showers without a real waterproofing layer can look fine for years while water damages the framing behind them.
We handle bathroom tile from prep to grout: shower walls, bathroom floors, tub surrounds and accent walls. Waterproofing is built into every wet area we tile.
Tile and waterproofing work
- Surface prep
- Flattening walls and floors and installing proper backer materials for tile.
- Shower and tub waterproofing
- Waterproofing on walls, floors, niches and seams in wet areas.
- Shower walls and surrounds
- Wall tile layouts planned around niches, valves and windows.
- Bathroom floors
- Floor tile set flat with layouts that center on the room and doorway.
- Grout and sealing
- Clean, consistent grout joints and sealing where the materials call for it.
- Transitions and trim
- Clean edges where tile meets drywall, tubs, vanities and other flooring.
Choosing bathroom tile
Slip resistance
Bathroom and shower floors get wet. Smaller floor tiles with more grout lines, or tiles rated for wet floors, give better footing.
Grout color
Grout that contrasts with tile shows the pattern; matching grout looks calmer and hides small variations.
Where tile stops
Full-height tile, wainscot height or shower-only: each changes the look and the scope. We'll show you where the edges will land.
Maintenance
Some tiles and finishes are easier to keep clean than others. Worth thinking about for a shower you'll clean every week.

Paul and his team did a wonderful job with our primary bathroom remodel. Paul was very communicative, asked questions throughout to make sure we were getting exactly what we envisioned, and kept us updated throughout the whole process. His team was very courteous and skilled. They finished on time and within the budget we agreed to at the beginning of the project. We love our new bathroom and are amazed at the transformation! It went from old, stale, and cramped to bright, open, and airy. My photos don't do it justice!

Bathroom Tile & Waterproofing questions
Can you tile over existing tile?
Sometimes it's possible, but in showers and on floors we usually recommend removing old tile so we can check and properly prepare what's underneath. We'll give you an honest recommendation for your bathroom.
Do you waterproof shower floors and walls?
Yes. Waterproofing is part of every shower and wet area we tile.
Can you just re-tile a bathroom floor?
Yes. A floor-only project is fine. We'll look at the subfloor and the toilet and vanity connections during your estimate.
